I've used hosting from DreamHost for three years now and I'm very satisfied. Cheap and great capacity.
The only negative is a bit high latency because their servers are in the US (my site caters to an European audience), but for international sites they're hard to beat.
DreamHost include 50 GB for backup purposes, so you don't need to pay extra for a dropbox or something else to get offsite backups.
They have their own custom made control panel with a lot of options, one click installs, and you can administer your databases with phpmyadmin.
Extremely fast, friendly and able customer support is also a big plus!
I don't know if there are any negatives to say about DreamHost. If they continue providing this quality of service, I know I will be with them for a long time.
